1. Best overall nose hair trimmer:

Wahl Micro Groomsman Review

Wahl's top rated nose hair trimmer has a built-in light for easier cutting.

Here’s the thing: Wahl has some more popular and best ear trimmers, eyebrow and best nose trimmers for men out there. But for me, this model achieved the best results.

You might think it funny to be a fanboy over a personal trimmer, but when you use the one I was using and then switch to the Groomsman then you’ll understand. It actually performs way better. It does the job faster, with less fuss and better results. It cuts the hairs cleanly without pulling and is effortless to use.

At 1.6 ounces, this eyebrow trimmer is micro, indeed.

This means that you can use it anywhere and not need to be a contortionist to get to some out of the way areas. It fits well in the hand and its length allows you to reach if your arms are short.

Don’t be fooled by the small size. It packs a punch and can take care of a lot of your grooming needs.

It is a mens eyebrow trimmer, a nose and ear hair trimmer, a beard detailer, a personal trimmer for pubic hair or bikini trimming. When you need a personal groomer, you need it to do a lot of things well.

You can also use it as an eyebrow trimmer for men! In fact, you have two swappable heads here. Use the reciprocating head for your brows and ear hair, and the rotary head for your nose. A protective cap will keep both clean.

Adding to its flexibility, this little guy is also ready for both wet or dry use. Take your pick, though I don’t like nose trimming under the shower, it’s all dry for me. In fact, I would say that it struggles to cut wet hair if you use it in the shower.

When your hair is wet it will tend to lie down against the skin. Then it’s hard for the blade to get at it for one thing. Another is that the hair gets pushed and bent when it’s wet. Again, the blade can’t really cut it when this happens. You inevitably will notice hairs that didn’t get cut afterward when you look in the mirror. Better to use it dry.

The nice thing about it being waterproof is that at least you can clean it up easily by just rinsing it under the sink.

You do really need to keep it clean. If you let the hair sit on the blade it gets dull. Not only that, but the grime gets accumulated and will slow the blade down making it ineffective. What kind of grime? Well, the trimmers goes in your nose so you do the math!

The Wahl nose trimmer runs on one AAA Lithium battery. Lucky us: the product comes with one battery included in the package, so you can use it straight away! It should last you for quite a while, depending on your grooming needs. I mean, if you only use it for the eyebrows or nose, one battery lasts an eternity.

It has a handy comb attachment to use for trimming your eyebrows. Use the foil guard to shave the fuzzy bits around your eyebrows and get rid of that unibrow you’re sporting. Then snap on the guard to run the blade over your brows to trim down the longer hairs.

Two main downsides here. First, you’re not getting a little pouch for storing this little fellow. Second, its design might not seem as exciting as some other models (Panasonic or Philips) out there.

Does the design really matter? I know guys couldn’t care less, but maybe it’s important to women. That’s why there is always a female version with a sleek look with lots of curves. For us guys, form comes after function. As long as it works we are happy.

Though I think these are among the best eyebrow trimmers out there, it also works well as a detailer that can give you some straight sideburns and even edge your beard. Beard shaping, eyebrow shaping, nose hair trimmer, it really does it all and then some.

2. Best Philips micro trimmer for nose hair:
Norelco NT5175/49

Norelco offer their best trimmer for male nose hair, and it's versatile for sure.

The name Norelco is a classic in body grooming. From beard to pubic trimmers, Philips have nailed the art of providing us with cool grooming gadgets and now include the best ear trimmers.

Their Norelco 5100 ear, nose and eyebrow trimmer is yet another example. In fact, it goes well beyond, as you can use it to shape a bit of your neckline and sideburns too. Supposedly it works as a beard stubble trimmer too, but it’s not that effective there.

Remember I said that form comes after function? Well, this is a case where the function and form go hand in hand. What I mean by that is that the design of the blade angle allows it to make more contact with the skin inside your nose so you can get a very close shave with no extra effort. In fac, it is a safe way to get a close shave since you won’t have to press it against the skin in a funny angle to make contact. This pressure would lead to irritation of your nose and be really uncomfortable.

Anyways, the keyword here is customization. This thing is like an all-in-one unwanted hair extinguisher! You’ve got two eyebrow combs (1/8″ and 3/16″), a beard comb at 1/8″, a soft pouch, a brush…

Versatility is key when it comes to these little products. I love the ability to switch out the heads and use them for all kinds of jobs. The detail trimmer is something you don’t often see on a nose and ear hair trimmer, but it comes well received.

The wide head of the detail trimmer makes short work of your sideburns and the edge of your beard. Now, I wouldn’t replace my actual hair and beard trimmers with this, but it is nice to have when at the gym or for a quick touch up instead of bringing out my tools.

The plastic comb attachments will give you a bit of a trim on your beard, mustache or sideburns quickly since they are two sided. In other words you can go up and down and cut the whole time. It’s so much faster than having to angle the trimmer around to go in the opposite direction. This is also a very ergonomic way of doing this.

If that isn’t some seriously luxurious treatment, huh! Combine that with an included AA battery and the convenience of cleaning it just by rinsing under water…And you’ve got a winning formula, check it out in action:

The 5100 trimmer for men’s eyebrows and nose hair has two important technologies in it. First, it’s the ProtecTube tech that prevents pulling or nicking, a.k.a any irritation when you trim.

Then, you’ve got the DualCut feature that ensures more powerful trimming at better speed with limited friction. Between these two, you shouldn’t experience any inconveniences. I mean, who wants to have their nose hair being pulled in such a sensitive area?

There is nothing really worse than having a trimmer pull out a nose hair. And then the sneezing fit that comes after is not the best either.

Now, there’s one thing you need to know: the blades are sharp, but not top grade sharp if compared with some other models. They’ll do the job just fine, but if you’re extremely hairy, look at some other alternatives.

3. Best vacuum trimmer for nose hair:
Panasonic ER430K

As far as vacuum nose hair trimmers go, Panasonic takes the crown.

We’ve discussed how cool it’s to have a vacuum beard trimmer or hair clipper. So, why not extend it to nose or ear hair? At least that’s what Panasonic seem to have thought.

I don’t know about you, but no matter how well I think that I’ve cleaned up after trimming my nose and ear hair, there seem to be hairs coming out of the woodwork for days. That’s why I love that this has the vacuum function.

Now, it doesn’t get 100% of the hair, but I can accept cleaning u a few here and there over the mess that it would normally make.

And it sure works. ER430K is the best ear trimmers for men with a reason. Its Micro-vacuum system will make your unwanted hairs go all POOF! If you hate cleaning after trimming, there’s your solution.

That’s cool, you think, but how does it actually perform? Worry not, hairy fellow, Panasonic wouldn’t betray you like this.

The curved, hypoallergenic blades of the vacuum nose trimmer are pretty comparable to how my own Wahl performs. They won’t irritate and will chop those pesky hair invaders in one go.

That doesn’t mean that it leaves the hairs long at the expense of keeping your sensitive skin from getting irritated. It shaves quite close and you wouldn’t even know it due to the shape of the blades.

I have really sensitive nasal membranes so I go into a sneezing fit at the slightest discomfort when trimming so these are a godsend. Many trimmers rub right up against that wall of my nose and send me into a sneezing fit but that has never happened with these.

Once again, you’re free to use this gadget both wet or dry, depending on what you prefer. The design is ahh-mazing, very sleek, very ergonomic. You also grab a travel pouch for convenient storage.

The cons? Well, the vacuum feature makes it operate a liittle bit louder, to be honest. Also, unlike the other models, you don’t get a battery included in the pack. But these aren’t a tough pill to swallow in exchange for that vacuum function, right?

Chooling Manual Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer

Sometimes you have to go off grid to get the best way to do things. Like this manual operated nose trimmer from Chooling.

Even though you have to use your hand to power it, it works as good or better than the other battery powered nose trimmers.

Before I get into all the advantages, I will point out one disadvantage. It only does your nose hairs. It can do your ears too, but only on the inside. It won’t work to buzz down the hairs growing outside your ears. If you are like me then unfortunately the hair doesn’t grow where it is convenient. I buzz my head to every time I do that I make sure to get the hair growing around my ears and use a nose and ear trimmer like this one to get the hairs inside.

Unfortunately, I need a few tools to make sure I am properly groomed.

Anyway, the benefits to using this trimmer is that it doesn’t ever pull your hairs. It actually uses quite a bit of torque since it works with gears so it can be operated manually. This means it cuts perfectly and easily every time.

You can use this anywhere and never have to worry about batteries running out. At the gym? Keep it in your Dopp bag and yo can use it in the locker room without worrying about it getting wet.

Off grid camping but still don’t want your nose hair to look like the local flora? No worries, it is powered by hand and can be used any time.

It is made out of stainless steel that won’t rust or corrode and will last a lifetime. Not only that, but it is easy to clean. You can rinse it off under a faucet and there is no worry about batteries or the inner workings getting ruined by a stray drop of water or two.

4. Best electric eyebrow trimmer for women:
Panasonic ES2113PC

For female facial hair and eyebrow trims, the ES2113PC is outstanding.

Once again, Panasonic, and a favorite for women all over the world. It all starts with the very attractive, slim and lightweight design of this female facial trimmer. ES2113PC looks like a gentle pink feather, ready to take care of your eyebrow trouble.

It is clearly designed for women, but does it have a “Pink Tax”? What’s that, you ask? You know what it is, it’s when you have the same tool as a man’s designed for women, usually pink and then they can charge more for it.

Well, don’t worry, this is every bit as good as a tool for men and it doesn’t cost any more than it should.

It is an excellent grooming tool, so let’s get into the details and see why women love this elegant little trimmer.

Two comb attachments (A & B) provide you with different lengths you can trim your eyebrows with. The pivoting head allows for precise, close eyebrow trimming as it follows your face’s contours.

If you want to do some kind of gentle version of dermaplaning then this will help you remove the fine, peach fuzz hair off of your face. You need it to have good contact with the skin to work effectively. Now, it isn’t the same as using a microblade for real dermaplaning as it doesn’t remove layers of dead skin cells, but it does help you put your makeup on evenly.

It’s also great to use as an eyebrow shaper.

Ladies are even more concerned about skin irritation. Rest easy: this facial trimmer for women has hypoallergenic blades that won’t cause any issues. They’ll glide over your skin, ridding you of the unwanted follicles in no time.

In fact, you can also use this as a neck hair trimmer or as a peach fuzz trimmer for women. So, there’s some versatility included in the eyebrow shaver package!

What you won’t receive, however, is the AAA battery it needs to run on. A slight disadvantage, but nothing too bad. My wife’s main remark is that, unfortunately you can’t buy replacement blades if something happens to the stock ones.

5. Best female facial & eyebrow razor:
Tinkle razor

Tinkle gets our best facial hair razor award in this list of reviews.

Some ladies skip on facial trimmers and go for eyebrow razors instead. It’s a matter of personal preference, really, as both seem to work fine according to my wife. Keep in mind that razors are sharper and you need to be more careful, though!

Tinkle is, hands down, the best option here (Shiseido would be a runner up.)

Grabbing one of these means you can eradicate any peach fuzz anywhere on your face (around lips too!), or shape your eyebrows beautifully. A note: razors can be a bit harder to pull off with brows, as there’s a higher margin of error. If you’re a total beginner, a trimmer might be better.

I mentioned dermaplaning earlier and remarked how the Panasonic doesn’t do actual dermaplaning. The Panasonic is great for getting rid of peach fuzz, but these Tinkle razors are what you want to remove dead skin cells and leave your face glowing.

If you use skin care products like moisturizers or toners, then they will get absorbed much more readily when you’ve dermaplaned. It’s also a great way to clean out your pores and leave your skin much cleaner.

Can you use these for nose and ear trimmers? Probably not a good idea, but for eyebrows they work wonders.

Please use one of these only after you’ve cleaned your face, possibly adding a little bit of moisturizer. Don’t perform too quick, wide-swept motions – instead shape slowly, with careful, tiny motions.

Here’s a video on how to shape your eyebrows and you can see some facial razors in action there:

Tinkle razors will leave no hair behind as their blades are absolute champions. As long as you’re careful with your shaving technique, you also won’t encounter any irritation. Grabbing a pack of these is cheap enough and will last you for quite a bit!

How to use a nose hair trimmer: is it that hard?

No, not at all especially if you are using one of the best nose trimmers. In fact, it’s ridiculously easy to use just like the best ear trimmers out there.

There’s two main things you need to watch out for: proper vision “inside” your nose, and not going too deep with the gadget.

On the first point, just grab a pocket mirror or be in front of one. If you tilt your head back a little (which you should do), you’ll be able to peek inside your nose. Start trimming away and inspect the insides of your hairy, nosy jungle to see how you’re faring.

An alternative is a built-in light, such as the one my own Wahl trimmer for men’s nose hair has. That’s why I can skip on keeping a mirror around, but not many models have this nifty feature.

Please, don’t go too deep with the trimmer. You don’t need to perform an excavation! Otherwise you risk discomfort even if you are using the best nose trimmers and let me tell you, your nose is way too sensitive to like it.

Don’t forget that we have nose hairs for a reason. We need some of the hair to remain to be able to do its job. If you get rid of every bit of hair there is nothing that traps things like pollen, soot and other pollutants from getting into our bodies. Then you open up the risk of all kinds of respiratory issues.

Just take out the ones that people can see. I mean, nobody is exploring your nasal cavity to see what is up there so there is no reason to wipe out those nasal hairs deep inside your nose.

The same applies for your ears. In case you decide to clean up your ears a bit using the best ear trimmers, don’t go too far in. If you’re too zealous with how deep you go, you risk damaging your ear canal.

Bonus point for using one of the best ear trimmers is hygiene. You want your ears to be clean before using it, so get to work. Now, many people advise against using Q-tips, but that’s my way to do things.

Anyways, once you’ve got that ear wax out of the way, start trimming using the best ear trimmers with gentle motions close to the surface of your ear. Nothing too complicated, really. I hope this review about the best ear trimmers and best nose trimmers gave you all the answers you need to decide which one to buy.
